Computer Engineering 288 - Embedded Systems

All projects in this class used a programmable robot provided by the university. This robot was
essentially a Roomba vaccum cleaner that had been modified to be controlled by a micro-controller
mounted on top of it. It had a wheel on both sides allowing it to rotate left and right and move
backward and forward. It also had an ultrasonic and infrared sensor to detect distance from an
object. These sensors were mounted on a swivel connected to a servo motor allowing the optical
sensors to get a 180 degree field of view.
